Star Paws
FAQ

Q. What sort of pets do you photograph?
A.
Anything and everything - from dogs and cats to rabbits and rats, and everything in between! We’ve also been asked to photograph horses, guinea pigs, hamsters, and even a snake! Whatever pet you have, Star Paws would love to take some great photographs for you, so please get in touch.

Q. Do you just take photos of pets and animals?
A
. Pet photography is what Star Paws specialises in, and of course we know that your pet is a very important member of your family. If either you or your children would like to have photographs taken with your pet, then we would be very happy to oblige.

Q. When will the photo shoot take place?
A.
We like to be as flexible as possible regarding our photo sessions, and can schedule both morning and afternoon appointments Monday-Friday. Saturday shoots are also a possibility, but please bear in mind that they tend to be booked up in advance so you may have to wait a little longer than if you arranged for a weekday session.

Q. Where will the shoot take place?
A
. Most of our shoots take place either at your own home or in your garden, or at an outdoor location such as on a favourite walk with your dog, a sunny resting spot for your cat, or at the stables or paddock for a horse. We are open to any requests or suggestions you might have for the location of your shoot, so please do contact us to discuss this if you have something particular in mind.
Please note that an additional mileage fee to cover our costs may be charged for return journeys in excess of 40 miles from our base (i.e. over 20 miles each way). Naturally any such charges would be discussed with you in advance.

Q. What will happen during the photo shoot?
A.
We will probably have had a chat about the sort of photographs you would like before the shoot actually takes place, but we can talk about this again, and anything else you wish to discuss, at the start of the session. This is also useful time for the photographer to observe the relationship between you and your pet, and to think about the range of shots that will best capture his or her personality. Your pet will also have the opportunity to meet and greet the photographer, and to feel comfortable with this new person on their territory!

Q. How long will a photo shoot take?
A
. Each shoot is different, and the length of time we spend with you and your pet can vary depending on a number of factors, but you can rest assured that we will never rush through a shoot because we need to be elsewhere. Sufficient time is always allowed between shoots. To give you a rough idea, the average shoot probably takes around an hour, depending on whether you would like us to photograph your pet at more than one location, or have any other specific requirements.

Q. How and when will I get to see the photographs?
A
. Your photographs will be uploaded onto your own password protected page on the internet, so you can view and select your favourite images at your leisure. Of course, if you don’t have access to the internet then we will be happy to print copies of your photographs for you, or we may arrange to come back and see you so that you can view the images on a laptop. Your images will be ready to view within 2-3 days of the shoot, or sooner depending on our schedule.

Q. What forms of payment do you accept?
A
. If you order online, you can pay by by PayPal, debit or credit card. Offline orders can be paid for by cheque or by cash.

Q. What if I place an order and then later decide I would like more prints?
A
. Your images will remain on your password protected web page for a few months, but will then be archived to free up space. We will be able to retrieve your images from the archive at any time should you wish to order further prints.
